Heidi Assignment 4

1. The 1st visit is when the pastor comes and tells grandfather that Heidi needs to start school. Grandfather refuses the offer because he wants her to make the trip and also because she thrives with the goats and the birds. The second visit is from Dete telling grandfather that she is taking her to Frankfurt for education. Grandfather does not want Heidi to leave but Dete takes Heidi and leaves with her.

2. If I never went to school I would not know how to anything because reading and writing are essential things in my life. I wouldn't be able to go to college or support myself when I get older. It may look fun in the beginning, but you would find out soon that it's not all it's cracked up to be.

3. The new scenes referred to in chapter 6's title are of the Sesemann residence in Frankfurt. It is very different than the Alm. The house is large and unfamiliar to Heidi. There is a coachmen and a maid and Heidi doesn't know anything about how these people live.

4. Heidi is neither foolish or pert. She just simply is bold and speaks what she thinks. She doesn't know how else to act. She hasn't been discouraged ever for what she says.

5. Fraulein Rottenmeier has basically runs the Sesemann household. She tells people what to do and when to do it. She kind of takes Klara's mother's place since she died many years ago.

6. Fraulein Rottenmeier's three problems with Heidi are that she is only eight and Klara is twelve and she needs to catch up with Klara's education, another problem is that Heidi isn't her baptist name, and also that Heidi cannot read or write.
