Grandfather had such a look apun his face that heidi went still.
on pages 7 and 8 it tells of why the grand father is bitter he drank and gambeled mixing with people of bad. he lost his home, his mom and dad to death, and a brother to himilliation. he was bitter and kept to himself.
When heidi read about the man being a drunk and bitter Grandfather is reminded of himself. He remembers how he was bitter and drunk even when his son was alive and how he wished that he could have been better and have loved his child like he had come to love sweet little Heidi.
Knowing that the Protigal son was excepted back into his family Grandfather decides that he will move back to the community and go to church with the rest of the villagers. He also decides to send Heidi to school so that she can learn all that she is able to.
