2. Her testamony is not very convinceing because of the way she is always stuttering. Also she tries to stand up for him and proves that he should not be prssecuted or convected of the crime that he might get charged for.
3.Yes i think Tom Robinson will get conivted. Also Jem thinks that he should not be convicted, but Atticus doesnt them to be there during the trail.
4. Tom Robinson feels sorry beacuse that he she had to go thourgh all of it and that what he said about not raping the white girl..............Because he had lied......
5. Things are going rather ok i guess you could say in thier house.
6. Scout's aunt says no to him coming over and playing because she wants Scout to be more Lady like. Scout reacts to this by not talkin to her.
7. Jem starts standing up for what he believes in after he sees Atticus het spitted on.
8. No I dont believe that white men always win.... Just because we are diffrent that other other races doesn't make us more powerfull, also I dont like the other race doesnt mean that we are more better than the other races.
1. Describe how Jem felt about Tom Robinson's chance of aquittal?
Jem felt that it wasn't right that they always took a white mans word over a black mans word and he felt that Tom should have a fair chance.
2. Describe Mayella Ewell's testimony on the stand. What does she say happens? Is she convincing?
Mayella says that Tom came inside the fence and grabbed her around the neck. She says he got her down and took advantage of her. She isn't very convincing to me because she keeps acting like everyone is out to get her and no one will listen to her side of the story.
3. Why do you think Tom Robinson is convicted? How does Jem react?
I think Tom is convicted because he is black and Mayella cried on the stand so many times. Jem can't stand the idea that Tom wasn't given a fair chance.
4. How does Tom Robinson's testimony that he felt sorry for Mayella affect the trial?
His testimony that he feels sorry for Mayella does not go over very well. They say that a black man with all his needs had no business feeling sorry for Mayella.
5. How are things at the Radley's house these days?
They say that Scout is beginning to understand why Boo Radley stays in the house all the time.
6. Why does Aunt Alexandra refuse Scout's desire for Walter Cunningham to come over and play? How does Scout deal with this?
Aunt Alexandra says that if you cleaned Walter up and put him in new shoes he wouldn't be like Jem, ever. There was also a drinking streak in the family.
7. When Atticus is spit on by Bob Ewell, how does he change Jem's definition of bravery?
He changes Jem's definition because instead of fighting back he remained calm, made a joke out of it, and walks away.
8. Atticus explains Tom Robinson's conviction by saying, "when it's a white man's word against a black man's word, the white man always wins." Do you think this is still true today? Our we still racially based?
No, I don't think it is still true today because there is different races interacting everyday.
1. Jem felt like there was a very good chance over Tom's aquittal. He really wanted Tom to be a free man because he could not think why anybody would charge him under the evidence that was shown. He thought Tom was going to be a free man.
2. Mayella's testomoney on the stand was pretty convincing, but she was very scared and angry. When they asked her how her father treated her, she started to say over and over about how he treated her well. She kept thinking Atticus was making fun of her and she did not say anything after she told them her story.
3. I think Tom was convicted on account that he was a black man. They did not like colored folks and the whole jury was white. Jem was very upset when Tom Robinson was convicted.
4. Tom Robinson's testimoney about feeling sorry for Mayella Ewell certaintly affected the trial. They could not believe that a black man would ever feel sorry for a white woman.
5. The Radley's house as been very quite and has not been mentioned in a while. Jem thinks that Boo Radley accually WANTS to stay inside his house.
6. Aunt Alexandra refused Scout's for Walter Cunningham to come over and play because she said that they are trash. Also she said that they Cunningham's talk to much and does not want him to come over. Scout deals with this by getting angry, and Jem caught her and took her in the other room. Jem comforts her and tells her not to let Aunt Alexandra aggrivate her.
7. When Atticus got spat on by Mr. Ewell, Jem changed his definition of bravery. He now realizes a man can also be brave without a gun. Also, by staying calm about it will affect the person that did it to you greater than they affected you.
8. I think that was a true statement then because all the white men were racist and would go against a black man any time they could. I do not think that it is true today, because very few people are racist anymore. I don't think we are still racially based, but there are a few people out there that still thinks badly about a different race than their's.

3. I think Tom Robinson was convicted because of the matter he was a Negro. Jem thought it was wrong and it should not of happened to him.
4. He felt sorry because she had nobody around to be friends with.

End of Heidi part1 chandler king
Heidi has no clue what the Alm-Uncles past beholds. But Heidi just likes the story and tells the Alm-Uncle. The grandfather doesn't know what to say but understands how the story relates to him. So in all seriousness he replies to Heidi , that the story is beautiful.
Heidi Sixth post
On page 165 The Alm Uncle is affected emotionally by Heidi because I don't think she didn't know anything about her Grandfather so she didn't think it would effect him. When the Alms Uncle got the kingdom he wastes it on gambiling and drinking and wasting life and he doesnt think life will accepted him back into the world so he gives up on everything and is mean old and rude. Until Heidi comes and lives with him then he opens up to live and starts being nice and when Heidi reads him the Protacile son and he opens up and loves life and they go to church.

Heidi End of the Book Assignment
When Heidi reads the grandfather the story, I don't think she meant much with it but that it was a wonderful pasage and that she really liked it. When she read it I think that she wanted the Uncle to be happy and congratulate her for being able to read so well and that it was such a wonderful and beautiful story. But the real effect on him was that he was that son, that he was the drunkard and that he needed to ask for forgivness and do like the person in the story does. The reason that he was so mean to everybody was beause his parents died of shock and his brother went into hiding.(pp 7&8) I feel sorry for this man and since his parents are both dead that only way for him to ever not feel sorry for himself is to repent to the Lord. That is also the reason why he starts going back to church and makes those old ties and makes them tight. I honestly think that the Alm Uncle is turning his life around and is going to change for that good! "Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before Thee, and am no more worthy to be called Thy son! and great tears rolled down his cheeks."(pp. 66) I believe that the Uncle doesn't want Heidi to turn out like him and he wants to start making her live very good and with religion.

Heidi Assignment: End of Part One
On pages 164 and 165 the Alm Uncle is affected emotionally by the story of the Prodigal Son that Heidi reads to him. He is effected emotionally because he realizes that his life is not over. In the beginning of the book, Dete has a conversation with Barbel in pages 4-10. She explains to Barbel how the Alm Uncle once was wealthy because of the land he owned but he drank and gambled away all of his money and land as seen on page 7 and 8. Also, his brother disappears never to be heard of again. The Alm Uncle relates to the story because he realizes that if he gets in contact with his family, they will accept him with open arms just like the father did with the son in the story.
